VGIF Strategic Plan

More than ten years ago, VGIF developed its first Strategic Plan focused on its mission and goals. The Plan served the board well and provided focus over the years. There has been growth and change in many aspects of VGIF’s organization since the plan was first created. In 2008 the decision was made to take a fresh look at our organization and the strategic plan.

The committee’s initial focus was to develop draft mission and vision statements. At the April 2009 Board Meeting, the Board of Directors adopted a revised Mission Statement that describes and focuses the work of VGIF for the period 2010 – 2015:

The Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund
provides small grants for grassroots projects
that empower women and girls in developing countries.

This mission statement now becomes the foundation for developing a five-year Strategic Plan that will be reviewed by the Board of Directors at the October 2009 meeting.
